''WORLD FITNESS CHAMPION

ROB POWELL IS CYCLING THE NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY TO PROMOTE FITNESS

Rob Powell, a Teacher/Coach in Texas, stopped in Tupelo, Mississippi, long enough to talk to us about his trek.

Rob is cycling the 450 Mile, Natchez Trace, promoting health and fitness, in the United States. Powell's love of History, fueled his passion for the Trace, and the heat, humidity, even the inconsistent rules of poorly trained park rangers, could not keep him from reaching his goal of cycling the entire length.

Guinness awarded Powell the title after he added 25% to the existing world record, and defeating it by 2 hours, formerly held by Joe Decker in 24 hours.

On October 27-28, 2001, Rob Powell, in 22:11:40, performed the following.....2 Mile Swim, 12 Mile Run, 12 Mile Hike, 1,250 Push-ups, 1,250 Leg Lifts, 1,250 Jumping Jacks, 110 Mile Cycle, 20 Mile Row, 20 Mile Elliptical, 3,250 Crunches, an Lifted 300,000 Pounds of Weights, using Upper Body Only.

Powell will start a 12 Week Training Program, in August, to go after his own World Record, in October.''
